Help us unlock $200,000 in funding to reach an additional 20,000 families in 2022!
Ten years ago, 20 farmers and a few American and Guatemalan volunteers began experimenting with new farming techniques in Guatemala. The dream? Help farmers grow their way out of poverty and malnutrition.
In 2021, Semilla Nueva reached over 11,000 families with more nutritious corn seed. Even in the midst of the pandemic, farmers are producing new kinds of corn with higher levels of nutrients, better yields, and more resilience to climate change.
Together, we can reach 20,00 families in 2022. But more than just reaching more families, Semilla Nueva is launching a new vision. Our goal is to reach 3 million families, producing enough nutritious corn for 100 million people by 2036.
Changing the future of food in some of the world's most malnourished countries will be a huge challenge. It will take big investments in seed development, nutrition impact studies, and more. To help us lay the groundwork, several of our biggest donors are offering to match this campaign and help us raise the critical funds we need for 2022. If you help us raise $100,000, they will match an additional $200,000!
